el XV secolo Coltibuono ebbe un ulteriore sviluppo
sotto il patronato di Lorenzo de’ Medici. Nel 1810, sotto
il dominio napoleonico, i monaci furono obbligati a
lasciare Coltibuono. Negli anni successivi la proprietà fu venduta
prima attraverso una lotteria e nel 1846 fu acquistata da
Michele Giuntini, banchiere forentino e antenato degli attuali
proprietari. Sotto la guida di Piero Stucchi Prinetti la fattoria
venne trasformata in azienda. Oggi i fgli Emanuela, Roberto,
Paolo e Guido proseguono nell’opera intrapresa dai loro antenati
oltre un secolo fa.
Questa secolare struttura ha aperto le sue porte a viaggiatori
e visitatori che desiderano vivere una rara ed unica esperienza. E’
possibile dormire nella storia e trascorrere la notte nelle antiche
celle del convento, oggi trasformate in accoglienti e confortevoli
camere da letto, oppure afttare un appartamento per sentirsi
“abitanti” di Badia a Coltibuono. Nei periodi freddi Badia a
Coltibuonomette adisposizioneuna vasca interna riscaldata con
annesso bagno turco. 800 ettari di boschi, con sentieri segnalati,
permettono infnite passeggiate in una cornice incontaminata.

ver the centuries they extended their vast land holdings
to include many thousands of acres and developed a
fourishing wine production and commerce. In 1810, when
Tuscanywas under Napoleonic rule, themonkswere forced to leave
Coltibuono and the monastery was secularized. The estate was
frst sold by lottery and then in 1846, Coltibuono was bought by
Guido Giuntini, a Florentine banker and great grandfather of Piero
Stucchi-Prinetti, the present owner. Under the guidance of Piero
Stucchi Prinetti, the estate grew and built a solid reputation in Italy
and abroad through the high quality of its products. Nowadays,
his children Emanuela, Roberto, Paolo and Guido continue the
activities embarked upon by their ancestors.
Badia a Coltibuono is the frst wine resort in Chianti, opening
it’s doors to travellers and visitors who want to share a truly
unique experience. Here it is possible to encounter the magic
of a venue, to observe the slow yet intense rhythm of a 1000
year old abbey and farm and to sleep in history. Guests can rest
and relax in the magnifcent italian style garden or, during the
summer months, around the large open-air swimming pool.
For the rest of the year, Badia a Coltibuono also has an indoor
swimming pool, with an annexed Turkish bath. 800 hectares
of forests, crisscrossed with walking or mountain biking paths
provide for a pristine natural backdrop.
